AJ Sacher is our Charlotte Legacy Open champion! Hoisting the second trophy distributed on Sunday, AJ nearly clinched both, falling short in Standard against the Standard Open champion Nate Pease. AJ’s double finals finish and victory guarantees him Level 8 status, and he’s not alone. Joining him and Gerry Thompson on that level are Alex Bertoncini, courtesy of a Top 16 in Legacy with Merfolk, and Edgar Flores on the back of two Top 4 finishes in our weekend’s events. AJ and Edgar have made major names for themselves with their strong recent finishes, and AJ’s first championship was an important one–now, he’ll receive a full playset of New Phyrexia, as will all of our Level 8s when the set debuts. Standard will experience a shakeup once the new set becomes legal at the Orlando Open, a scant two weekends from now. Glenn Jones will be joined there by Joe Panuska and Joey Pasco, as SCGLive continues to bring you the best in Magic broadcasting. We’ll see you there! Loading Event Photos…
