Flow of Ideas – Can’t Sleep, Wizards Will Eat Me: The Community Cup

Monday, June 14th – I have been to a lot of tournaments, and I’m used to the lifestyle. This is nothing like any other tournament. You are playing weird formats, against WoTC employees, in WoTC’s headquarters. You are working together every round, focusing not only on your game but your teammates’ as well. You are pooling as many resources as possible to be successful. Simply put, you are eating, living, and breathing Magic.
Round 5: Jeff Cunningham vs. Brad Nelson
The fifth round feature match was a behemoth between two of the game’s titans: Jeff Cunningham representing the old school and Brad Nelson representing the new school.

You Lika The Juice? – Scratching my EDH Itch with Commander

Friday, June 11th – Through a series of curveballs that life throws at you sometimes, I haven’t been able to make it up to Richmond Comix to play in any FNMs in quite a while. Which also means I haven’t been able to play in any EDH games afterwards. Which also means I’ve been dying to play some EDH, so I finally found some time to jump on Magic Online and reconnect with Commander, the MTGO version of Elder Dragon Highlander.
Practical Legacy – Memorable Plays and Complications

Friday, June 11th – The arrival of the StarCityGames.com Philadelphia Legacy Open was another chance to play high level Legacy for hefty prizes. It is the type of event where better decks and better player prosper because the competition is intense, and a player needs every advantage to pull out close games. Unlike other events, I had already decided awhile back to play Entomb Ichorid.
