Abe kicks off his stint on SCG Free with a plea for pithy column names. He also provides us with a few decklists that revolve around one of the more powerful creatures in Guildpact…
People love rumor season. Why is Wizards doing this to its loyal customers? Why is it attempting to destroy a tremendous source of hype and excitement about upcoming sets? Why is it punishing someone who’s worked tirelessly to promote its products?
Why can’t I convince myself that this lawsuit is a bad thing?
Adam continues his journey through the folklore of Magic. Today’s subjects? Those with Second Sight.
For his first foray on SCG Free, the mighty blisterguy does his level best to avoid talking about Magic Online. Instead, he waxes lyrical on the pressures of fame, shares a cupful of tales from his trip to Worlds, and joins the debate regarding the WotC lawsuit.
As recently as a few weeks ago, my raging anger against American Idol paled in comparison to my absolute, utter loathing of a certain other phrase that got thrown around entirely too often:
Casual Magic Deck. And yet I’ve recently found a way to tweak 5-Color so that it’s fun without being degenerately broken. No, it’s not a series of endless restrictions or complicated balancing rules; all of the cards in the deck (which is singleton, with the exception of one card) have to follow one simple rule.
In his first article for SCG Free, Chris answers some outstanding emails from fans. He throws a number of Standard deck ideas into the ring, and waxes lyrical on a certain lawsuit you may have heard about. He also brings cheesecake.

In his now-traditional prerelease article, blisterguy aims to harden us against the dangers of going into a battle unprepared.

A: Yes. Fortunately, Magic Players can reproduce asexually.
When a mediocre-to-good player writes about Sealed, he’s always lamenting his choices by the end of the article. Oh, it’s not that the author built a bad deck — they’re a competent player, after all – but there’s always that post-game realization that maybe Black was a little more potent than they gave it credit for (and was worth splashing for), or that this creature wasn’t nearly as good as they thought it was. So how’s a novice going to cope with the trainwreck color-clash that Guildpact brings? The Ferrett walks you Limited newbies through the basics of Sealed play!
