The Beautiful Struggle – What Can You Do?

Read Mark Young every Tuesday... at StarCityGames.com!
Let me tell you a little story. It is a story about how much I love playing Magic. It is a story about receiving good cards from good friends and good decks from good players. It is a story about how well-prepared I was for Regionals, and how right I was in last week’s article. It’s a story about matches in which Daybreak Coronet and Basal Sliver were played by my opponents…

Insert Column Name Here – Staring At My Sandals? That’s A Paddlin’

Read The Ferrett every Monday... at StarCityGames.com!One of the things I can do is to look at my weak points — and one of them is mulligans. I’m better than many at mulliganing, but in Limited I still have issues of knowing when to mulligan, mainly because the decks and matchups are much more complicated than Constructed. Constructed decks are tightly-focused, but Limited decks can have several basic plans to victory. As such, I think it might be interesting if I took a couple of games and analyzed them from opening hand to finish… So, in fact, that’s precisely what I did.

Limited Lessons — Over and Under

Read Nick Eisel every Monday... at StarCityGames.com!
After posting a mediocre result in Regionals, Nick returns to the format he knows best: Limited. Today’s Limited Lessons sees Mr Eisel examine some of the under- and over-appreciated cards from Time Spiral and Planar Chaos, cards whose value has changed with the inclusion of Future Sight. With the format now legal on Magic Online, it’s the perfect time to brush up on your forty-card strategy!

So Many Insane Plays — How to GroAtog in the Pouring Rain

Read Stephen Menendian every Monday... at StarCityGames.com!
With the unrestriction of Gush in Vintage — alongside some other wholesale changes — Stephen has revisited the old Vintage powerhouse, GroAtog. With the full complement of Gush, plus the usual plethora of strong, cheap spells, does the deck still have what it takes to be a dominant force in the New Vintage metagame? Plus, Stephen also shares his thoughts on the DCI restrictions, and questions their policies going forward.

Magic Puzzles — Judge!

Read Jeff Till every Monday... at StarCityGames.com!
This week’s puzzle deals with players that are somewhat less impressive. They are so bad, in fact, that they cannot even manage the game state properly. Even “Bad Beat” Phil would be appalled. If you’re looking to win yourself an RGD draft set (or two for a perfect score), this is the week to start, as the fifth puzzle competition begins. All competitors are welcome, just send me your solutions each week via PM by Monday at midnight. Good luck, and enjoy!
