Friday, November 14th – With States out of the way, there is little reason for the interested tournament mage not to focus entirely on Shards of Alara Limited. While Standard is certainly of interest for anyone looking at Worlds, there is nothing demanding our attention in quite the way that Shards Limited ought to. My personal States story is a heartbreaker, and not in the way that gets people laughing on the forums about how I’m terrible-with-illusions-of-grandeur.

Thursday, November 13th – Hello all, and welcome back to the format that explores and discovers the realm of the casual. Today, I want to dial the clock back to one of my earlier entries in the Compendium and revamp it for the modern day. I want to talk about the New York Format.

Thursday, November 13th – How significant is learning a format – and learning what to expect – in Limited? Specifically, if I have years of drafting experience, can I simply walk into any draft format cold and do well? I tried just that. I’ll show my first, fourth, and eight draft – and we can look for improvement.

Wednesday, November 12th – It’s all about Gavin and his Pro Tour Berlin experience. Hear about his Death Cloud deck, the worst-kept secret in competitive Magic, and more hijinks from the PT. He also tells us about an amazing BOO (“Build Our Own”) draft he participated in upon coming back to Washington and the Standard Cruise Qualifier. Oh, and don’t forget States was this past weekend as well seeing the appearance of Faeries, Five-Color Control, GB, Wr Kithkin and more.

Wednesday, November 12th – Of all the changes that have occurred within Magic over the last couple of years, few caused me more trepidation than the conversion of Theme Decks into the new Intro Packs. Having taught many new players the game through the use of the excellent Theme Decks, and with a constant supply of new ready-to-play sets of four or five decks at a time, they were a core component of my Magic experience. So why change a winning formula?

Tuesday, November 11th – This is the story of my Pro Tour in Berlin. As I come close to finishing this article, I can tell that it will be the first of two or three on the tournament. This one will follow the tournament in a mostly linear fashion, hitting on some of the fun short storylines of that weekend.
