Too Much Information – StarCityGames.com Legacy Open: Indianapolis

Tuesday, March 23rd – In Indianapolis the largest StarCityGames.com Legacy Open ever saw a very diverse Top 16. The usual suspects showed up with Merfolk, Counter-Top, Reanimator, Land, and Charbelcher all present. New faces Team America and Mono Black Control had good days, but one of the best performing archetypes on the day just missed the cut. Get the stats inside!
Removed From Game – Grand Prix Madrid: When Does Big Get Too Big?

Tuesday, March 23rd – Two thousand, two hundred and twenty-odd players turned up to make Grand Prix: Madrid the largest event in Magic history. Paris in 2008 and 2009 had told us that the two thousand barrier would eventually be broken, but it was demolished. And that caused some pretty interesting issues for Staff, Judges, Pros, dealers, casual players, Wizards, and coverage writers. When exactly does Big get Too Big? Rich wants your help in finding out. If you care in any way about a system that supports Pro Magic, this is a must-read.
Constructed Criticism – UB Thopter

Tuesday, March 23rd – Just when you thought that Gerry Thompson was fading away into the background, he’s done it again. In the online PTQ this past Sunday, two copies of his deck (or similar versions) made it all the way to the finals, piloted by Charles Gindy, as well as the eventual winner (whose name I do not know).
The Chump Block – Milling Indy

Monday, March 22nd – I took a unique deck to the StarCityGames.com Indianapolis Open. Unique in the sense that probably no one else in the room was likely playing it, but people who read my column on a regular basis (hey, mom) should recognize it. I had written about my Hedron Crab deck a little while ago and had be doing fairly well with it online, so after making a few minor changes and a few offerings to various deities I decided to put my money where my mouth was.

You may have noticed that we have made a slight change to our grading scale here at StarCityGames.com. The newest grade is MP (Moderately Played), and it is between Slightly Played and Heavily Played. Give me a moment of your time to explain the reason behind this change…
You Lika The Juice? – From the StarCityGeezer Mailbag

Friday, March 19th – While I guess there are some writers who write simply for their own enjoyment, I suspect most writers are like me—we write to create a shared experience with our readers and hopefully elicit dialogue on topics that interest us. Reader response through the forums and through email let writers know whether our columns are making those connections we’re looking for.

Friday, March 19th – Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of the Magic Show. This week we’ve got some big news: Not only do we know the name of the Fall block, codenamed “Lights,” but we’ve got the most important decision regarding the Wizards of the Coast Reserve List in years. We’ll talk about ‘em both, along with a little Rise of the Eldrazi, this week on the Show. Let’s go!

At the Gathering – Communities and You

Friday, March 19th – Today, I want to tackle a subject broader than just Magic: the Gathering. I want to discuss Gamer Communities at large. As such, this article, while useful for Magic players, is also aimed at other genres of gamers. As such, it assumes no prior knowledge of any specific game of the reader.
