Friday, October 16th – Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of The Magic Show. This week we have a slightly truncated edition due to the fact that I’m live in Austin, Texas for the Pro Tour, but rest assured we still have some goodness for you. Thursday, October 15th – In a game of Magic, especially in multiplayer, the game can seem somewhat hectic. Indeed, this was something that attracted me to Magic in the first place. After all, there are these tricky spells called Instants that can be played at any time, meaning there are relatively few times where you can execute a plan consisting of more than a couple of moves without your opponent having the chance to wreck you.
Thursday, October 15th – A week or so ago, I got an email from Wizards PR, asking me if I wanted to participate in a “Community Challenge” event at Wizards HQ. I was invited “as a member of our press community to come out and participate.” No details, so I assumed it was some sort of community outreach / PR meeting. I figured it was a chance to hear some announcements, get some article ideas, and maybe a shirt. I was wrong.
Thursday, October 15th – By the time you read this article, I will have touched down in Austin, Texas. I will have successfully flown halfway across the USA to be in close proximity to the event site for a main event for which I’m not even currently qualified…

I’m definitely in that group of horrible players, but then again, it’s a pretty big group. The worst part is, we don’t just suck in one way. We suck in multiple ways.
