With Faeries being the undisputed kings of the castle, perceived wisdom suggests that preboarding your deck to thrash the Fae is the only sensible choice. Friday, July 18th – We have been toiling in what seems to be a degenerate Block Constructed format, living in a world where Faeries wins more than half the PTQs, and attendance is beginning to dip as we grow bored of trying to combat The Faerie Menace. Eventide’s impending release fleshes out the world of Block Constructed, completing the card-pool and either giving the hope of unhorsing the big bully of the format once and for all… or killing it.

Thursday, July 17th – There are many approaches to deck choice when a large tournament comes a’ knockin’. Some people value the strongest strategy, regardless of their play style preferences. Others, like Gerry Thompson and Patrick Chapin, enjoy leveraging their superior playskill into game wins via strategies that allow their strengths to shine. It seems that Richard Feldman is keen to hop aboard the Blue-spell Bandwagon… he justifies this philosophy within!
Thursday, July 17th – Life’s been a little busy lately, and I was not going to write an article this week. The prerelease was – from my perspective – sort of blah. Then I read both Chatter’s article this week, and the responses. Some people are blathering, and I need to comment. I’ll also sprinkle in a few of the dumb plays I saw last weekend.
Thursday, July 17th – Today’s article is the third installment of The Magic Role-Playing Game. The last article was published back in January, so I felt it was time for another supplement. The Magic RPG is my most popular work. I suspect that it will endure for a long time, and it’s my favorite contribution to the game. I have had people tell me that playing The Magic RPG has changed their Magic gaming experience forever, and I am humbled by this.
