Friday, July 17th – The past couple of columns I took a look at Magic 2010 in broad strokes; now that the set is released and I’ve had a chance to hold some of the cards in my hand and play with them, I figured I’d do an overview of the specific cards that have my attention, and touch on the Magic2010 prerelease in Richmond. Let’s jump right in!
Friday, July 17th – Magic 2010 is here, and with it comes a whole host of changes. Some are small, like losing mana-burn or the change to how Lifelink works. Some are large, like the change to creature combat that comes with the removal of the previous best four words in Magic besides “you win the game,†“Damage on the stack.â€

Wednesday, July 15th – Just tell yourself: attack the enemy. I must find a way to beat them. If you do this, then you will. The first step to defeating your enemy is to figure out who or what your enemy is. In this case, Kithkin is the enemy. Think back to a time long forgotten, where Kithkin ran rampant, but were easily defeated via Firespout. Those days have long since past, but now it seems time for a comeback. Viva la Revolucion!

Tuesday, July 14th – Goblins, Merfolk, Elves – tribal decks are on the rise again in Legacy, but one family seems to have been left out. Slivers, a historically good tribe, see less and less play every week. Is this a function of other decks being better, the cards losing power over time, or other factors? Monday, July 13th – On Saturday, I played M10 for eleven hours straight, making the finals of a twenty-five man tournament and then drafting an utterly horrid Blue deck that went 1-2. As usual, here are my impressions of the cards as I saw ‘em; some looked good and played poorly, others looked terrible but were better than expected.
