Tuesday, August 25th – I am going to give you the skinny on the new “Steel City Vault†deck that I piloted to a third place finish at Worlds – a deck that I believe may become a major player in the post Champs metagame. In the two last events I have played in (Vintage Champs and the Steel City Power tournament) I have racked up a total match record of 13-2-2 (the two draws were intentional) playing this deck.

The first would be to do a remake and renovation to Equinaut, one of my iconic decks, and one of my favorites of all time. Another idea would be to celebrate the new Five Color format which now has 300 cards with a deck or two, each at 300 cards. Monday, August 24th – It’s the StarCityGames.com $5000 Standard Open in Dallas this Saturday. If you are looking for a deck that is just as good on the draw as it is on the play, has positive matchups against both Five-Color Control and Jund Cascade, and, on top of all that, is great fun to play, then look no further than UW Baneslayer.
Friday, August 21st – This past weekend was GenCon, in case you are now returning to reading StarCityGames.com after your hiatus under a rock with no concept of time. The Convention was, of course, amazing, packed with gamers, costumes, companies, and sweet, sweet games. Today, I’m going to run you through some of my time at the convention, and we’ll finish up with some discussion of PlaneChase.

Thursday, August 20th – I’m back from GenCon. I watched a lot of Magic, and I have quite a pile of decklists. I also survived the Klingons, the fire, the flood, and a truck with no brakes. In short, a typical event.
Thursday, August 20th – Hybrid archetypes are those that combine parts of the three basic archetypes (aggro ,combo, control). Aggro-control decks are quite common in Legacy represented by decks like CounterTop, Merfolk, Dragon Stompy, and others. Combo-control decks are rare in Legacy but decks like Aluren and Solidarity can be out into this category. Aggro-Combo decks are not all that common, but decks like Elves are a good example of such an archetype in Legacy.
