Deconstructing Constructed — The Impact of Future Sight on Time Spiral Block Constructed

Regionals is over for another year, and so our attention turns to the next Constructed PTQ season — Time Spiral Block. Josh takes a look at the goodies that Future Sight brings to the table, looking at what may or may not work in the established decks of the format. Mono Red, R/G Big Mana, White Weenie… all the current contenders are under the spotlight. Plus, there’s a couple of new decks to try!

One of the things I can do is to look at my weak points — and one of them is mulligans. I’m better than many at mulliganing, but in Limited I still have issues of knowing when to mulligan, mainly because the decks and matchups are much more complicated than Constructed. Constructed decks are tightly-focused, but Limited decks can have several basic plans to victory. As such, I think it might be interesting if I took a couple of games and analyzed them from opening hand to finish… So, in fact, that’s precisely what I did.
