You all know the drill by now… Rich Hoaen, Canada’s finest and grumpiest draft export, takes us by the hand and drags us through the rollercoaster ride of an 8-4 TPF Draft on Magic Online. From pick 1 to pick 45, Rich shares them all, and his final deck and draft performance are analyzed in the article, the forums, and beyond. Come join in the fun!
Now that we’ve had more time to digest the Grand Prix: Montreal results, seeing more of the decks that weren’t in the Top 16, we’re beginning to hear about a few of the PTQ results. This means we can start testing with more refined versions of the decks we’ve been playing, or seen on MTGO, and personal gauntlets. My group’s initial testing has slowly shown, just like many others, that a B/U base with splashes is pretty much the way to go in this format.
Today, we’re talking about rares, more significantly “bad rares.” And that discussion has two sides; the side of the corporate shills who have no higher or grander goal than saving you the undue burden of money, and the whining ninnies of the casual crowd who have no idea how the world works. Breaking it down, it runs something like this…
Tomorrow is The Ferrett’s birthday – and as per past Birthday specials, he feels the urge to do something strange, crazy, and unmistakably lazy with his column in order to celebrate! But what, if anything, can he do this year to top the “Unedited article” fiestas of birthdays past? Tune in to see all that, and a Sealed deck that turns out to be a theme deck!
Block Constructed is upon us, and the Red Deck is proving popular. However, there’s a spanner in the works, in the shape of the Little Lhurgoyf That Could. Tarmogoyf Green/White decks kick seven bells out of Mono-Red builds… but never fear, Dan is here to help. By urging us to question each and every card in our builds, Dan leads us towards a Better Red Tomorrow…
This past weekend, Patrick “The Innovator” Chapin teamed up with Mark Herberholz for some Two-Headed Giant action at Pro Tour: San Diego. This article touches on some of the good times in the lead up to Patrick’s PT return… but more importantly, it brings us a slew of new Constructed decklists across a number of formats! Vintage, Extended, Block Constructed, they’re all here!

Kyle journeyed to Grand Prix: Montreal via a most unusual route… and today’s Down and Dirty chronicles each step of the way in painful and extravagant detail. Aside from the journey shenanegans, Mr Sanchez brings us his U/W Pickles list and walks us through some of the more salient matchups, before rounding out with more of the Sanchez lunacy. If you’re looking for something a little different for your next PTQ, maybe U/W Pickles is the deck for you…
Grand Prix: Montreal is now behind us… and the decks that did well have insinuated themselves into the Magic Online metagame. Tarmogoyf, Korlash, Epochrasite, and the rest… who are the true winners from Future Sight, and who is failing to make the cut? All is revealed within… but first, a rant about poker.
Another Flores Friday, another kick-ass deck… this time, a spicy looking G/U/B build for Block Constructed (As you’ve probably guessed by the deck name above). Harnessing the power of a number of strong synergies, does this deck have what it takes to propel its pilot to the Pro Tour? And does the deck actually include the rubbish dragon from Planar Chaos? Read on to find out!
Tiago Chan, Portugal’s Level 6 Pro Player, went into Day 1 of Grand Prix: Montreal packing an updated version of the Blue/Black Teachings deck that served him well in Strasbourg. Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go according to plan this time, but today’s article includes his thoughts on the deck, a match-by-match rundown, and an intriguing moral conundrum in the final match of the day…

Hello everybody, and welcome to a very special edition of the Magic Show. This week we hit our fiftieth show, and with it an important milestone: Correspondents! Yes, our own Rueben Bressler visits Grand Prix: Montreal and brings us deck tech from Craig Jones, as well as a very special Magic connection between a Judge and his autistic son. All that and more, just inside!
Legacy is currently experiencing significant development. Christopher Coppola analyzes these changes and predicts how they will affect the format in the future.
Summer is here, and I for one shall be focusing almost entirely upon Block Constructed from now until infinity. Other than brief nods to formats of interest, such as this weekend’s Pro Tour, we’ll be playing Block until August. My intention was to hit a PTQ this weekend with a carload of fellow predators, but it seems StarCityGames.com in Roanoke is still quite far from New York City.
