Monday, August 18th – I am, to my estimation, a good resource for the ins and outs of the Kithkin deck strategy ,and specifically for the latest iteration, Kith Long. I am a big fan of the Kith folk and a big proponent of its continued success, so when a big bad new deck comes along threatening to knock Kithkin off the map I am quick to try to help the poor little guys have a chance.

Friday, August 15th – This weekend past has been an interesting one for the Block Constructed format. Just when everyone settled in to think that it was the same-old, same-old format with Faeries on top, a vanishing deck archetype got enough ‘Innovation’ to win the Grand Prix in Denver.
Friday, August 15th – I spent last weekend judging feature matches at Grand Prix: Denver. That actually involves a lot less game watching than you might think, but I did see a lot of Magic played. What really impressed me was the potency of the manabases. Sure, Owen Turtenwald’s Mono-Red deck, and the Mono-White aggro decks were consistent and solid, but so was the five color deck that won the whole thing.

Thursday, August 14th – After the disappointment of posting 3-5 on Day 1 of U.S. Nationals, Kyle Sanchez refused to let the results get him down. Happily, the rest of his trip to Chicago was more productive, and his unstoppable team draft record is chronicled today, alongside many a Sanchez tale of decadence and idiocy. Enjoy!
