Friday, September 25th – While Wizards has been knocking out some home runs of late, in terms of card design and business decisions, and understandably wants to highlight their successes, I also think it’s important to the long-term health of the game to take a critical look at this most recent Standard so that the people who make the game will hear and take it into consideration for future designs.

Thursday, September 24th – When the Armada Games Tampa $3k tournament came around, and Director of R&D Aaron Forsythe, DCI Tournament Manager Scott Larabee, and former Vice President of Organized Play Chris Galvin all ended up here, it seemed like opportunity knocking; opportunity to play Magic with some of the most influential persons in the game’s history. All I had to do is fling open the door.
Thursday, September 24th – New cards can be tricky to evaluate in limited. Inevitably, there are always a few overlooked cards that slip through your initial card evaluation. After all, how many times have you looked at your pre-release sealed pool months afterward and wondered, “how in the world did I not realize that I had all of Blue’s best commons sitting in my sideboard?â€
Thursday, September 24th – Early this week, I took a day off work to deal with some stuff around the house. The roof on one of the outbuildings needs replacement, the septic alarm was going off, the garden needed work, etc. Cool. A day mostly off. I can draft!

Wednesday, September 23rd – No matter how you look at it, it would seem that the feelings about Zendikar are more or less unanimous amongst the Magic community. Some suggest that it’s the best set since Ravnica, while others say it’s interesting yet also a tad overhyped. Myself, though, I find somewhere in between.
