Thirst for Knowledge – Planeswalking

Monday, May 10th – I ran some games with UWR Planeswalkers against Jund, and the results were pretty positive. Or, rather, at first they were very poor – but after looking at the Top 16 decklists for Atlanta, it became apparent that most players weren’t playing Vengevine in their Jund lists, and therefore our Jund list was pretty ahead of the curve when it came to beating the Planeswalker deck.
Positive EV – Mythic Online

Friday, May 7th – While the smart money is on Blue/White Tap Out and Jund as the two top contenders from Standard, the perennial Mythic deck continues to take home the bacon across the board. With no Rise of the Eldrazi on Magic Online, Manu pits the original build against a host of decks in the eight-man queues.

Ideas Unbound – Beating Jund With Blue-White

Thursday, May 6th – There have been a lot of awesome new decks being debuted recently, what with the first week of PTQs, StarCityGames.com’s Atlanta 5K, the first results from European National Qualifiers, and so on. But, like, let’s be real. Jund has had Standard in a deathgrip for a while. Even if Rise of the Eldrazi will shake up Standard to the point where Jund is dethroned, people are still going to take a while to adapt.
The Justice League – Local Liaison at Grand Prix: Houston

Thursday, May 6th – I was the Local Liaison (a.k.a. Local Leader a.k.a. Executive Office) at Grand Prix: Houston. This job, in addition to being one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to spell, was an incredibly interesting position. In fact, LL at the GP is one of the coolest experiences I can imagine, second only to head of the DCI Ninja Assassin Team.
