Thursday, April 24th – Two things happened since last article. MTGO came back, and we had a prerelease. Neither of these was perfect, but both show some signs of progress. Overall, the weekend was not quite optimal. Only the weather was perfect, but I was inside most of the time…

Thursday, April 24th – Wherein Dave learns the value of time management, plays creatures with activated abilities that require mana he can’t produce, drafts a deck of a single color, and name-drops “The Swiss Missile.â€

Wednesday, April 23rd – I hope you were able to attend the Shadowmoor prerelease this past weekend; here in Richmond, quite a crowd mustered out to get their first taste of the new cards, and first impressions seemed to be that Shadowmoor Limited is chock-full of fast beatdown, along with synergies and combos that are often hard to handle.

Wednesday, April 23rd – Around Grand Prix: Daytona last year I mentioned that I wanted to write a theory article on Sealed Deck play, since I think the format as a whole is underrepresented in the body of Magic literature. Too many people think of it as “open your cards, look at your bombs, and play your removal.â€

Tuesday, April 22rd – Over two hundred of you submitted terrible, terrible cards that Wizards might print. But today? Today we choose and sort, finding the truly bad cards and choosing… The worst card of all of them. Watch in horror as we sift through the unplayables, then the unprintables, to show you a card that one day Wizards might print!

Tuesday, April 22nd – With only a month until Standard and Block formats come to dominate the world of Pro Magic, it’s easy to lose sight of the reason Magic gets made – it’s FUN. Join Rich Hagon for an interactive journey through Prerelease weekend, where your tales of woe and wickedness will help spread the word – Magic is some of the best times ever.

Tuesday, April 22nd – Sealed with Shadowmoor ranges from the ‘worst ever’ when playing against creatures like the Lieges, Rhys the Redeemed, or Godhead of Awe, to pretty fun when you get to play the traditional G/R Aggro against slower control. The traditional baits and trickery occurs, and hybrid allows you to play more good cards then you usually could while presenting interesting mana exercises.

Monday, April 21st – If you’re looking for some insight on what Shadowmoor brings to the Legacy scene, then look no further. This week, Adam takes a look at the newest combo to hit Legacy, and how the functional changes to Mox Diamond could affect the metagame.

Monday, April 21st – We’re kicking things off a little cheekily this week, but that shouldn’t be misconstrued as a bash on any of the other great articles on Red decks since Tattermunge Maniac was previewed (check out Ben Peebles Mundy, Patrick Chapin, et al). Rather it’s a tongue-in-cheek means of warning the audience: successful Red decks often run “bad†cards in order to succeed.

Friday, April 18th – MTGO is dark. Work has gone so late I couldn’t make drafts on Wednesday or Friday. I haven’t brewed up any decks at all this week – and formats are on hold pending the arrival of Shadowmoor in any case. That means it’s time to reopen my current favorite topics: Green sux, casual versus competitive, and the goodies from Shadowmoor…

Friday, April 18th – As with last week’s article, if you are avoiding Shadowmoor spoilers until after the pre-release, my article today is not going to make you happy. I will be more than happy to see you on Monday, however, instead of making you unhappy today, so if you are keeping yourself virginal and pure for the Shadowmoor pre-release tomorrow, please direct yourself to the leftward-pointing arrow above rather than spoiling yourself.

Friday, April 18th – Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of the Magic Show. This week we’re going to be talking about the new nicknames bestowed on a few special cards in Shadowmoor, a few tips and tricks that will hopefully help you in your sealed flights and drafts this weekend, and finally run down my favorite spoiled cards so far. Let’s go!

Thursday, April 17th – Hello folks, and welcome to the magnum opus of projects here at the Kitchen Table. For the last two weeks I have discussed one of my recent projects – the creation of a (hopefully) balanced Core Set. I think projects like this are a blast. Sure, there is a ton of work involved if you want to do a good job, but it is still a lot of fun.

Thursday, April 17th – It’s nearly D-Day. Every time a new set starts to approach, my toes get all tingly with anticipation. Pre-Releases are great chances to get out, interact with new people, get your muddy hands on new cards, and have a good day of fun with a chance of profit. And that applies to everyone, not just the guys who spend fifty-three hours a week playtesting.
