Tuesday, March 9th – Week six of the Armada Games EDH League set the standard for creating the chaos. Surprises and eleventh hour rescues were the order of business for the evening. I understand that Hive Mind and Warp World both resolved in one of the later games, but we’ll come back to that…
Tuesday, March 9th – An incorrect assumption about the metagame, or players in that particular metagame, is generally where I fail in tournament Magic. Before Austin, I had plenty of time to playtest real decks against real people, and that testing helped a little, but ultimately I disregarded everything I had learned.
Monday, March 8th – At last weekend’s PTQ, I ultimated Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker seven times. I’m pretty sure I’m the only person to have ever uttered or written those words, and it feels good to be able to say them. I ended up for eleventh, and feel like my deck – Nicol Bolas and all – could have easily won the PTQ.
Monday, March 8th – The record breaking attendance in Richmond provides the most data ever presented in the Too Much Information article series. Today we focus on the StarCityGames.com Legacy Open. With Merfolk taking home the hardware, and six of the Top 16 spots, the metagame looks to bring a little more hate for the fish this weekend in Indy.
Monday, March 8th – Last week, I gave a recap of my personal performance in the Vintage portion of the Philly Open V, an 82-player Vintage tournament in Philadelphia. This week, I’m going to pull back and give you the broader picture, as I did with the Philly Open IV last November.
Friday, March 5th – When StarCityGames.com announced their Open series for 2010, I was extremely excited about it for many reasons, not least of which was the fact that the endgame Invitational would be held right here in Richmond. Obviously I really would like to qualify, and the path to qualification would start early in the season with the Open in Richmond this past weekend.

Friday, March 5th – This weekend, half a world apart from one another, Legacy players met in Richmond, Virginia and Madrid, Spain to duel in Legacy. Though the format hosts a boggling variety of decks, a miraculous thing happened – almost the same playoffs happened in both events! Friday, March 5th – One thing that all Magic players have in common, from the kitchen table players to the Pro Tour finalists, is that we all play at some sort of event, whether DCI Sanctioned events, or just “Dude, we should totally play some Magic at Jake’s house on Thursday.†But how do we make these events successful?

Thursday, March 4th – It€™s been just over a week since PT: San Diego, and Jared has all of the information to take the Pros tech back home. From the emergence of Boss Naya to the reassertion of Jund, the metagame looks more open than some predicted. Worldwake finally made the splash that we were hoping for, placing cards in every deck that posted an 8€“2 or better record.
Thursday, March 4th – Considering both the advent of online Worldwake Release Events with the issues raised concerning Zendikar Limited by the end of the San Diego PTQ season, it seems like a good time to evaluate Zendikar Sealed and see how Worldwake impacts the format.
