Thursday, April 15th – Rise of the Eldrazi is almost here. Wizards assures us that the format will be slow enough to let us play eleven drops. Really? I looked at my recent matches in both Saga Limited and ZZW drafts. We will be playing 8-15 mana creatures? Just how different is this new set?
Thursday, April 15th – I was pleasantly surprised to sit down at my laptop this morning (technically, I was still wallowing in my own filth, in bed) to see that the entirety of the Rise of Eldrazi spoiler had been posted. Hurrah!
Wednesday, April 14th – Recently, I had purchased some Portal cards from SCG, and I was using my 15-20 minutes of bathtime to ensure that the whole delivery had arrived by checking the cards. While I was doing this, suddenly an idea came to me. What if I built a Five Color deck with nothing but cards from the starter sets?
Wednesday, April 14th – The Rise of the Eldrazi Prerelease is but days away, and by now it should be abundantly clear what this set is bringing to the table: the biggest, baddest fatties the game has ever seen. It comes as no surprise that cards like Emrakul and Ulamog shatter our preconceptions about what is possible from a creature in Magic, and I for one am pretty optimistic about their impact on all aspects of play.
