Monday, November 2nd – For the last two weeks, I’ve been trying to find a way to make UW Control into a real deck, as I believe that the combination of Baneslayer Angel, Wall of Denial, and Sphinx of Jwar Isle are just too much for an aggro player to handle, as long as these cards are backed up with a fair amount of support. I think the deck has potential, and could be just the thing for this weekend’s StarCityGames.com $5000 Standard Open.

Friday, October 30th – A couple weeks back I decided to try something new – open up my email to those of you who’d like me to “deck doctor” your EDH deck. I got a pretty good response, enough for several deck doctors, so if you like how this goes let me know and I’ll do some more here and there on the slow weeks.

Friday, October 30th – As the majority of my involvement in Magic these days revolves around tournament organization rather than judging, it was surprisingly relaxing to focus solely on being a judge for four days. I missed getting my hands dirty in giving rulings and answering questions. Even deck checks were fun again.
