Friday, April 23rd – Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of the Magic Show. This week we’re going to be taking a look at the all-stars in Rise of the Eldrazi Limited, what our new Standard environment may look like, address some concerns about the future of the ‘Show, and how a new rumored format may change everything about Extended and Legacy. Friday, April 23rd – Rise of the Eldrazi has had its prerelease, and many players are now preparing for Launch parties this weekend, whether they be 6 packs of RoE for sealed, or Triple Rise of the Eldrazi drafts, Eldrazi Standard, and more.

Friday, April 23rd – I didn’t realize how long it’d been since I played Limited until I sat down with my packs last Saturday morning at the Rise of the Eldrazi Prerelease. Prereleases are always a good time, and I love me some giant monsters, so I was extra-pumped for this one. After cracking my packs and sorting out the colors, I took a look at the rares and the Eldrazi. Here’s what I had to work with…

Thursday, April 22nd – Former Japan reporter Eli Kaplan sends a missive from Philly scoping out the new format, sharing his Sealed card evaluations, and letting us in on a vicious draft strategy for the next few months you won’t want to miss.

Thursday, April 22nd – Last weekend, the Eldrazi finally rose. I managed to play in one prerelease and run another – and I went “undefeated” in both. Good times. I’ll look at my deck and notable cards I faced. I’ll also talk about the cards that confused players, and the common rules issues at the prerelease. It will be relevant when you play at your local launch party.

Wednesday, April 21st – Today, I want to review and consider the cards from the most recent set, in light of casual play. Although this article series began – and still wants to focus on – Five Color, it also has space for other casual formats, like Peasant, Acid Magic, Multiplayer, and more.

Wednesday, April 21st – Allow me a moment to make something very clear: I don’t like Limited much, specifically Sealed. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like to play Limited, but rather that I’d always choose the Constructed format if given the choice. That being said, Prereleases for me are usually just a formality that I undertake every four months, mostly because it’s kind of a given that all players try to attend and that it’s a way to get new cards before they’re released.
