Thursday, May 6th – Gerry T has an admirable record in the fine city of Atlanta, and his winning streak continued at last weekend’s StarCityGames.com Atlanta Open. Today, he takes us through his Day 1 Standard performance with Open the Vaults, sharing a lot of laughs along the way.
Thursday, May 6th – There have been a lot of awesome new decks being debuted recently, what with the first week of PTQs, StarCityGames.com’s Atlanta 5K, the first results from European National Qualifiers, and so on. But, like, let’s be real. Jund has had Standard in a deathgrip for a while. Even if Rise of the Eldrazi will shake up Standard to the point where Jund is dethroned, people are still going to take a while to adapt.
Wednesday, May 5th – This week I am in New York in anticipation of working on Block Constructed with Zvi Mowshowitz, Gaudenis Vidugiris, Jacob Van Lunen, Jamie Parke, Matt Ferrando, and Chris Calcano. I decided the best way to spend my first weekend in the city would be to finish tuning up the Polymorph deck with cards from Rise of the Eldrazi and hit the local PTQs.
Wednesday, May 5th – With wobbly monsters appearing through the Eldrazi mists, it’s only natural to want to Polymorph them into play! Wednesday, May 5th – I wanted to do something a little different this week. I attended the StarCityGames.com Open Weekend in Atlanta, but I didn’t do amazingly well in either event so I’m not really going to do a tournament report. Instead, I’ll tell you what I played, what I would play if the tournaments were this weekend, and why.
Tuesday, May 4th – I have been in the brew-house ever since the prerelease and have eliminated some possibilities. I tried some pretty out-there stuff and it was a lot of fun, but nothing really panned out particularly well. I’m going to talk about some of the concepts I tried out.

Friday, April 30th – Something about Rise of the Eldrazi has really got ideas churning in my brain for Standard decks. Maybe it’s because Standard has felt so stagnant for so long, or maybe Brian Tinsman and company just really juiced this set with tons of intriguing cards and synergies. Whatever the reason, I’ve got tons of decklists I’m throwing against the wall to see what sticks, and a lot of them involve casting gigantic nightmare world-eaters.
Friday, April 30th – Dave spends an entire weekend playing Magic, eagerly anticipating the release of Rise of the Eldrazi and playtesting for an upcoming PTQ. And, once he gets his hands on those giant Eldrazi, building decks to use them to crush his opponents!
