Tuesday, March 16th – Dave explores some inexpensive options for the ongoing Extended PTQ season.

Friday, March 12th – While Extended is largely a format in which a variety of strategies can flourish, it seems that Zoo and Dark Depths are a touch overpowering. However, if you dig a little deeper, there is gold to be found. Brian Kibler examines a selection of interesting Extended lists that are currently flying under the radar…

Tuesday, March 9th – Extended, it seems, is not going away any time soon… and that means Zoo and Dark Depths are still on everyone’s minds. However, for Grand Prix: Oakland, Oli wanted to try something more… fun. So he set his sights on a cool Tezzeret build packing Pulse of the Fields. His Day 2 performance, and stories from the tournament floor, are contained within!

Monday, March 8th – At last weekend’s PTQ, I ultimated Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker seven times. I’m pretty sure I’m the only person to have ever uttered or written those words, and it feels good to be able to say them. I ended up for eleventh, and feel like my deck – Nicol Bolas and all – could have easily won the PTQ.

Thursday, March 4th – The forums have been crying out for it, and Cedric has delivered! After posting a heartbreaking 9th-place finish at Grand Prix: Oakland, Cedric Phillips presents a comprehensive primer on the Extended Dredge strategy. Card choices, matchups, sideboarding, and play tips… it’s all here!

Wednesday, March 3rd – Extended is probably my favorite format. Enough cards to support a diversity of strategies, and yet a ruthless ecosystem in which only the strongest will thrive. A nice feature is that the consistency in the card base means that the format has a strong continuity from year to year, such that if you knew what was going on the year before, you probably have a good handle on what is going on this season…

Monday, March 1st – I had just picked up my second loss in round five of the San Diego LCQ, and it was bordering on midnight. I hadn’t had time to revise my Dark Depths deck from the week prior. And that’s when, like a gigantic cheeseburger to a man stuck in the sand dunes of the Sahara, Alex West swooped in with his Zoo deck.

Friday, February 26th – One day removed from the first of his Extended PTQ run, Dave is ready to roll with a combo deck deemed “too slow” by one of today’s hottest pros. Dave provides the history and the thoughts behind this year’s build of Dragonstorm, and then gets ready to ride the lightning in Extended!

Friday, February 26th – Earlier this week, Antoine Ruel threw the U/W Tezzerator deck at Manuel Bucher’s popular Tribal Zoo variant. Today, Manu provides detailed information from the Zoo side of the table. If you’re looking to claim a blue envelope in the coming weeks, this is the series for you!

Thursday, February 25th – This past weekend was apparently an impromptu experiment for me to see if there was such a thing as “too much Magic.†I was very nearly pushed to the brink, as Pro Tour: San Diego had event upon event upon event and one could battle Magically in any number of formats for vast assortment of different prizes.

Tuesday, February 23rd – In continuation from last week’s article, after starting the Grand Prix off 7-2, I was pretty happy to make Day 2 but very disappointed that I wasn’t able to break through at 8-1. With an 8-1 record, it is much more likely that I can Top 8, as I have a bit of breathing room. With two losses, I’m in pretty bad shape with my back against the wall, and I will likely only make Top 8 if I go undefeated.
