Future Sight is here and I see that I’ve been Timeshifted to Wednesdays. Apparently Craig wanted to get the MTGO jump on MagictheGathering.com’s column, so I’ve been moved and now get to go up against the fellow who bumped me from my weekly gig over there. So revenge is mine – I get to challenge Mr. Karsten head on!
This week the plan was to go over the Top 8 decks from Pro Tour: Yokohama and analyze anything new or exciting to come out of the tournament. Slight problem, though… there was nothing new to report. The Top 8 consisted of slightly more refined versions of the decks that have seen play on MTGO or at the Grand Prix Trials thus far.

I’d like to talk about a funny thing that has happened to me on Magic Online over the last two weeks. I have not won product at a rate such that I can sustain myself without buying more — as the kids say, I haven’t “gone infinite” — because my draft skill is still a work in progress. However, I haven’t had to pay for a whole lot of my draft practice either. The reason for this is Momir Basic.
The Ultimate Extended Tournament began with 32 decks, and it is down to nine. (Yes, nine.) Those nine decks contain a total of eleven cards that were, at later times, banned in Extended. It really is a battle of broken decks — but disruption is proving more important than brokenness. Force of Will is heading the disruption team — and Force of Will forces me to talk about Future Sight.
