Friday, August 6th – In the spirit of “feedback week” over on the mothership, I thought today would be a good time to open up the mailbox and share what my readers have been sending me. Before I do that though, I did want to spend some time addressing some forum comments I got last week concerning card availability and mythic rares, and a “question of the day” I sent out over Twitter.
Thursday, August 5th – Merfolk won Grand Prix: Columbus. Let that sit for just a second. Bask in the comfortable, warm feeling surrounding your body. If you care about Legacy at all, then this should be good news for you. Merfolk has been fairly popular lately, and now that should increase with the results from Columbus, allowing you to adequately prepare for it, as well as giving you a great sideboard plan when playing it. So, what does that mean for us regular Joes?

Wednesday, August 4th – When you play a creature, you are making the considerable investment of a card and mana. In return, you get an animal, mostly to attack and block. There is considerably more to Magic than attacking and blocking, so if you’re playing a card that is basically only good at generating combat-related interactions, you’re making a significant sacrifice for which you should be rewarded.

Destructive Force is an awkward spell to evaluate because it costs seven and has to be viewed in context in order to truly appreciate it.
