Gisa Makes Her Glorious Return In Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

Check out the latest iteration of everyone’s favorite Ghoulcaller.

Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC), take a look at latest version of a legendary creature returning in Innistrad: Midnight Hunt — Gisa, Glorious Resurrector!

Ghoulcaller Gisa was introduced to Magic in Commander 2014 and returned on Gisa and Geralf in Eldritch Moon so it’s only fitting she returns in the latest trip back to Innistrad. The newest version is a 4/4 with two solid abilities and she receives the eternal night showcase treatment as well.

If a creature an opponent controls would die, exile it instead.

Graveyard hate is always a useful tool to have access to and Gisa takes care of any creatures that would try to return to the battlefield after dying. Gisa prevents the new disturb mechanic from producing value while her second ability provides plenty for her controller.

At the beginning of your upkeep, put all creature cards exiled with Gisa, Glorious Resurrector onto the battlefield under your control. They gain decayed.

True to her Resurrector name, Gisa brings back your opponent’s fallen creatures to fight for you. The returned creatures will have decayed so they can’t block, but that doesn’t stop them from giving you one good attack before they are sacrificed forever.

What do you think of Gisa, Glorious Resurrector? Will she shine brighter in Standard or Commander?
