Asahara, the legendary Japanese deck builder with two Pro Tour Top 8s, cut through a stacked bracket filled with top players like Gabriel Nassif, Alexander Hayne, and Thomas Hendriks. To reach the finals, Asahara had to win Temur Reclamation mirrors against Hayne and Arne Huschenbeth in the quarterfinals and semifinals. Asahara then defeated Thomas White on Azorius Control in the finals, taking a tense three-game match.
