In the months leading up to Lorcana’s debut set, The First Chapter, we’ve seen several new cards, most of which have been glimmers – the Lorcana equivalent to creatures in Magic: The Gathering. Then, towards the end of 2022, the first action card was revealed. Now we get a first look at another new card type — Items.
Hailing from the Disney classic Snow White, Magic Mirror is aligned with amethyst ink and while we’ll have to wait until spring to learn exactly how item cards will play, we can assume that they are a type of “permanent” (for lack of a better term), meaning once played, they will stick around in play for an undetermined amount of time.
Once in play, a second cost can be paid in order to gain some sort of benefit from the item. In the case of Magic Mirror, it appears that it can be “tapped” along with resources paid in order to draw a card. Worth noting, nothing on the card indicates that the item goes away after being used, making it akin to how most artifacts play in Magic.
So what do you think of Magic Mirror? Give us your best guesses as to how item cards will be played in Lorcana in the comments on Facebook and Twitter.
