Despite previews for Core Set 2021 scheduled to begin tomorrow, some of the artwork from the set has already begun to appear on social media.
Shared by reddit user nokiou to the magicTCG subreddit, this gorgeous piece, illustrated by Yongjae Choi, depicts everyone’s favorite time-bending planeswalker, Teferi, backed by what appears to be the ruins of the Weatherlite.
This second piece, shared by reddit user SumNeuron, again depicts Teferi, however this time looking much younger. As reddit user warcaptain points out, it “looks like Tolarian Academy in the background w/ a very young Teferi.”
We saw in Core Set 2020, a trifecta of Chandra planeswalkers, each depicting the fiery artisan at varying stages of her life, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume we could see multiple Teferi planeswalkers, as well as possible friends and foes from his past in Core Set 2021.
Previously announced back in September, we already know that Teferi, is returning to play a large role in Core Set 2021, but as for the rest of the supporting cast, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out when official previews kick off at 7 AM PT on Twitch.tv/Magic.
