The Rivals League member went 6-2 in the Swiss, squeaking into the Top 8 with an archetype he has used to previous success, taking third at the Mythic Invitational in September of last year. Once in the elimination rounds, Salvatto beat Kristof Prinz on Dimir Rogues (Lurrus) in the quarterfinals 2-1 and Bradford Tremblay on Selesnya Company in the semifinals 2-0. Salvatto faced another Selesnya Company deck in the finals, notching another 2-0 win over Francisco Sanchez, who took second place in last week’s Insight Esports Historic Open, to take the title.
Salvatto’s latest build of Rakdos Arcanist (Lurrus) trimmed down to two Young Pyromancer to go with the four copies of Dreadhorde Arcanist, Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger, and Stitcher’s Supplier. Salvatto went all-in on four copies of Faithless Looting, while only playing three removal spells to combine with two copies of Claim the Firstborn and four copies of Village Rites.
