Good Morning Magic Previews Chromatic Star And Timeshifted Ancient Den In Time Spiral Remastered

Gavin Verhey unveils three colorless cards coming back in Time Spiral Remastered.

On the last day of themed previews for Time Spiral Remastered, Gavin Verhey showed off an artifact and two lands in today’s Good Morning Magic, including a timeshifted artifact land — Ancient Den!

Verhey starts by telling the story of Chromatic Sphere from Invasion and how the design team liked what the card did, but not how it did it due to the rules with mana abilities. When Time Spiral came along, they took the opportunity to make a fixed version of the card, resulting in Chromatic Star, where they separated the two abilities for a cleaner design. Here’s Chromatic Star with new art in Time Spiral Remastered.

Flagstones of Trokair is also coming back with the legendary frame from its reprint in Ultimate Masters. The land has many synergies with the Time Spiral block, but it really shined in combination with Boom/Bust.

Finally, Verhey unveiled his timeshifted card of the day — Ancient Den. It’s the only artifact land on the bonus sheet for Time Spiral Remastered, though he did say it is part of a cycle of lands on the sheet. Each color will get one land on the bonus sheet, but we’ll have to wait to see what the others are.

Time Spiral Remastered is currently scheduled to release on March 19, 2021. You can check out our official Time Spiral Remastered preview gallery here.
