Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Marvel took to the stage at New York Comic Con (NYCC) to reveal the next Universes Beyond set — Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny.
After collaborating on two full sets and multiple Secret Lair drops, Marvel has given Magic designers tremendous creative freedom for Marvel: Darkhold Destiny.
Not only were Magic’s artists given an opportunity to bring iconic Marvel characters and locations to life through an entirely new lens, but story and world building designers have been brought in to develop a dedicated storyline – a first for a Universes Beyond expansion.
According to the debut trailer, the story for Marvel: Darkhold Destiny will explore the darker, more “magical” side of the Marvel multiverse, told in a “distinctly Magic way.” Additionally, this set will include the “…origin of a brand-new character through a new Marvel Comics release…” and based on the handful of artwork shown, the cast of major characters will include Doctor Strange, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Hela, Blade, Ghost Rider, and more.
