Previews for the next release in Magic: The Gathering’s Universes Beyond roster, Assassin’s Creed, will debut this weekend at IGN Live in Los Angeles, California.
In a post shared to the magicTCG subreddit, IGN’s Community Lead revealed that Wizards of the Coast (WotC) would not only be attending IGN Live, but have plans to showcase brand-new cards from Magic: The Gathering – Assassin’s Creed. Both Magic players and fans of the video game franchise will need to take a break from this weekend’s Modern Horizons 3 prerelease events to catch the reveals, which will begin at 11 AM PST on Saturday, June 8.
The most recent Universes Beyond sets (Fallout, Doctor Who, and The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth) were all met with high praise, and will certainly be tough acts to follow. Assassin’s Creed will also be breaking away from the normal product offerings with new Beyond boosters.
These 7-card booster packs offer a “curated opening experience for fans” and are most comparable to March of the Machine: The Aftermath‘s Epilogue boosters. Accompanying the Beyond boosters will be Collector boosters, Bundles, and Starter Kits. You can view a breakdown of the Beyond booster contents below.
- 1 Basic land card (or non-foil borderless scene card)
- 3 Uncommon cards
- 1 Rare or mythic rare card
- 1 Traditional foil uncommon, rare, or mythic rare card
- 1 Showcase uncommon, rare, or mythic rare card (can also be traditional foil)
Magic: The Gathering – Assassin’s Creed will be Modern-legal and is scheduled to release on July 5.
