Mark Rosewater didn’t leave Magic: The Gathering fans hanging at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. The head designer for Magic showed off the art for eight upcoming products with no other information other than that they will all be previewed in the next two weeks.
Check out the new pieces of art below and start speculating.
Magic fans have already begun deconstructing the illustrations to place the planes, and in some cases, what product the art could be previewing. Some theories include:
- No. 7 looks like Old Rutstein, originally from Innistrad: Crimson Vow
- No. 2 looks like more art from The Lord of the Rings with the MEE trademark
- No. 5 has multiple pieces of imagery from Ixalan, could possibly be Tilonalli
- No. 4 could be either a member of the Rakdos guild from Ravnica or a Vampire from Zendikar
- No. 3 looks like Theros with the temple in the background and massive Hydra
