Legend Story Studios has announced the location for the 2023 Flesh and Blood World Championship.
The second World Championship for the classic TCG will take place on November 16-19 in Barcelona, Spain and feature a $300,000 prize pool. The event will be ran by Tournament Center and held at Fira Montjuic, Pabellón Centenario — one of Europe’s largest convention centers.
The formats for the World Championship haven’t been announced yet, but LSS said it will be a mixed-format tournament. Last year’s World Championship used Classic Constructed, Blitz, and Uprising draft. Players can qualify by placing in the top of their respective National Championship, by using a PTI (Professional Tournament Invitation), or by invitations awarded to the highest ranked players on the LSS official leaderboards.
The weekend will also offer a Calling, Battle Hardened, and a full schedule of public side events. More information will be available on Tournament Center’s website soon, including details special guests, artists, cosplayers, and more. There will also be an event-exclusive promo card given to all players who participate in designated side events as part of the celebration of the host city.
Flesh and Blood creator, James White, is pumped to see the game grow and have its World Championship take place in Europe.
“We are hugely excited to bring the second annual Flesh and Blood World Championship to
Barcelona. Europe, and especially Spain, is home to some of our most enthusiastic players and
fiercest competitors, including Pro Tour Champion Pablo Pintor,” White said. “Flesh and Blood has seen
incredible growth over the last year and we cannot wait to see new and returning players come
together from all across the globe to play great games at one of the largest trading card game
organized play events in the world.”
