Monday, November 24th – I just looked through Magic’s first six expansions, hunting for old bargains – every card in Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends, The Dark, Fallen Empires, and Homelands – and all I could wonder is, “HOW THE HECK DID MAGIC SURVIVE?†Still, just as I looked through Alpha last week hunting for cheap cards that will be useful in a variety of multiplayer decks, this week I trawled through a wealth of absolutely terrible cards to pull out the gems. And here they are.
Monday, November 17th – There are quite a few cards there that every casual player not only should own, but can own for a low investment. These older, no-longer-in-print cards will make your casual decks much more powerful, generally for under a $12 investment. So let’s take a look!

Which means that when the new cards go up, I’m frantically looking through the list just like you, trying to find the ones that Ben’s underpriced and get the best bargains. And since a lot of my multiplayer articles revolve around the idea of “What are the best cards in this set?†I figured I might as well show you what Shards of Alara cards I ordered, and talk about why I wanted them.

I can’t wait!†Other cards, like Hamletback Goliath, I’d get and go, “Umm…. I’m gonna have to work on this one.†So I’m going to look at the cards that Wizards has spoiled thus far, and rank them based on how enthusiastic I’d be if I’d been assigned to preview them.
