Fishing Lessons – PTQ Video Walkthrough: Mythic Conscription

Grand Prix GP Columbus July 30-August 1, 2010
Tuesday, July 27th – It’s that time again, folks! I played in another Magic Online PTQ and the event didn’t crash this time, so I got to record it for you. I brought Mythic Conscription to battle this time around, and it did not disappoint. I thought it was going to be a good choice for the metagame in that tournament, and I felt like I wasn’t too far off.

It’s that time again, folks! I played in another Magic Online PTQ and the event didn’t crash this time, so I got to record it for you. I brought Mythic Conscription to battle this time around, and it did not disappoint. I thought it was going to be a good choice for the metagame in that tournament, and I felt like I wasn’t too far off.

It was my first time playing the deck, and holy cow is it good. The sideboard is a little off in the numbers, but the deck is still a real contender. M11 is not on Magic Online yet, but these videos are mostly about the technical play and general statements about match-up dynamics, which are fairly consistent between the old and new formats.

I get a little sleepy towards the end of the recordings, as you’ll soon see, but the choice was to post it as is where I might have made some huge errors or commentated like a drooling idiot, or to reshoot it and re-upload it, which means you would get it on Friday. I made the executive decision to publish it sooner rather than perfect, as it is time sensitive if you want to learn something before the PTQ this weekend.

Without further sheepish disclaimers, may I present to you, the PTQ Video Walkthrough with Mythic Conscription:
