Countdown To Grand Prix Louisville: 9 Days Out – Main Event Registration!

Are you one of the Legacy fans looking to make a run at the #GPLouisville title? Here’s how you can make sure you’re a part of the action!

Welcome back to the Grand Prix Louisville countdown blog! Yesterday, I dove deep into the Registration Options and Rewards available to anyone looking to attend Grand Prix Louisville. Today I’ll be going over everything that’s involved with the main event, from how to register to how many Pro Points you could walk away with. Let’s go!

How To Register

Registering for the main event of Grand Prix Louisville is simple. How simple, you ask? Well, with the magic of the internet, I can provide you a direct hyperlink to the registration page right here!

See? Simple!

A few additional things worth noting:

  • Legacy’s banned list changes with some amount of regularity and the last thing I would want is for anyone to show up to the main event with an illegal card in their deck, so be sure to review the Legacy banned list before registering.
  • Anyone wanting to participate in Grand Prix Louisville’s main event must register online or on-site by 9:00pm on Friday, January 6.
  • There is no Saturday main event registration.

Maximum Main Event Seating Capacity

The main event of Grand Prix Louisville is going to be a spectacular event that we want everyone to be a part of. Remember: it’s always our goal at StarCityGames.com to be able to accommodate as many players as we can at our events without sacrificing player experience at the tournament. Therefore, for Grand Prix Louisville, the maximum main event seating capacity is 4,000 players. Want to be part of those 4,000 players? Click here and secure your spot in the main event right now!

Pro Points

Pro Points are a huge reason why players come to play in any Grand Prix main event, and Grand Prix Louisville is similar in that vein. From a Platinum-level pro looking to solidify their status to an up-and-comer looking for their first big finish, Pro Points are something that stay with you forever and acquiring any at all is one of Magic’s biggest accomplishments.

All players finishing in the Top 8 will receive Pro Points based on rank. All other players will receive Pro Points based on their total number of Match Points at the end of the event.

Looking to make qualifying for Pro Tour Amonkhet a bit less stressful? Earning byes is the best way to do it! Byes earned through Planeswalker Points are calculated using the Planeswalker Point totals from all reported events as of the Wednesday immediately before the Grand Prix. Planeswalker Points earned in tournaments held at the Grand Prix event site do not count toward earned byes at that same Grand Prix main event.
