Just two days into preview season for the upcoming set, Vendetta, Riftbound has announced it will be banning Stealthy Pursuer later this month.

With the upcoming release of the game’s fourth expansion, Vendetta, Chaos and Order will be available as a deckbuilding combination, and while the new pair will add plenty of depth to the game, it also enabled a new, problematic, three-card infinite combo.
According to Game and Design Director, Dave Guskin, the Riftbound team isn’t “…opposed to infinite combos by default,” but after testing the combo internally, they felt that it was problematic enough to warrant a preemptive ban. To that end, the design team identified Stealthy Pursuer, a common from Origins, as the easiest piece of the combo to remove from the format.
While the Riftbound team hasn’t officially confirmed what the other pieces of the combo are at this time, members of the community did identify a combo that fits the description yesterday.

Important to note, the combo won’t be playable prior to the release of Vendetta, so Stealthy Pursuer will remain legal up until Friday, July 24 when the ban goes into effect.
Riftbound Vendetta releases July 31. Preorders for Sealed Product begin July 13.
