Wizards of the Coast (WotC) Director of Esports and Play Programs, Bear Watson, has announced he is leaving WotC to pursue “new opportunities in games.”
Announced earlier today via Twitter, Watson played a key role in cultivating Magic Esports over the last two years, including the launch of the Magic Pro and Rivals Leagues and restructuring of the Magic Hall of Fame.
While Watson did not elaborate on the new opportunities he plans to pursue, he reenters the job market with an impressive resume which includes a combined ten years of experience from former employer, Riot Games, as well as WotC.
