As part of an ongoing series of weekly changes, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has announced the updates and changes for Week 9 of Adventures in the Forgotten Realms on Magic Online.
Magic Online All-Access Returns Sept. 15
Players can purchase a Gen Con entry package for $20 starting Sept. 15 at 10 AM PT. This package includes:
- “A Mythic Event Token usable for entry into one of the 28 Constructed events held during the four days of the convention.”
- “All Access to cards in Magic Online until Wednesday at 10 AM PT.”
Also included with All Access is free entry into any number of casual games. Note: Leagues, Queues, and Scheduled Events will still have entry fees.
Playing three rounds in one of the convention events will also net up to nine (9) booster packs, plus an exclusive Xanathar avatar and non-foil Demilich. Winning three rounds in a single convention event will award a Wizards Ticket, which grants entry into the Convention Series Championship on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

Pauper Ban List Updates Set For Tomorrow
The announced update to the Banned & Restricted List will go live tomorrow on Daily MTG. Pauper will be the only format impacted and the updates should go live on Magic Online at noon PT.
Pioneer Chaos Draft Returns Tomorrow
Starting tomorrow, players can enter the Pioneer Chaos phantom drafts where 36 sets starting with Return to Ravnica all the way up to Adventures in the Forgotten Realms will be available. Each draft will feature 24 of the 36 sets and entry fee is ten (10) event tickets or 100 play points. The Pioneer Chaos draft will be live for a week.
Format Challenges
Format Challenges are scheduled to run every weekend for the foreseeable future and are the “first step to qualifying for Premier Play.” The schedule for upcoming Format Challenges can be found below:
