As Theros Beyond Death gears up for Prerelease, images of the inserts from the booster packs have surfaced containing a sneak preview of the upcoming set Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths.
Originally shared on the Magic TCG subreddit by user vorropohaiah, the art appears to depict a planeswalker – possibly Vivien Reid, based on the bow-backed by several giant creatures.
Last September, Mark Rosewater commented briefly on Ikoria: Layer of Behemoths, stating that there indeed will be big monsters, as well as the ability to “…play with and make your own monsters.”
Rosewater also mentioned that the set will include a new mechanic, one that is “one of the craziest mechanics we’ve made in quite awhile.”
Ikoria: Layer of Behemoths releases April 24, 2020 with prerelease events taking place a week prior, April 17-19.
