First printed in Darksteel, Sword of Light and Shadow often takes a backseat in Constructed formats to the swords from Mirrodin Besieged, but in Limited this sword really shines; able to grow and protect equipped creatures, but also provides card advantage by returning other creatures from the graveyard back to hand.

Sword of Light and Shadow has been reprinted three times (Modern Masters, Masterpiece Series: Kaladesh Inventions, Judge Promo) with Double Masters serving as its fourth. Its appearance in Double Masters includes new artwork by Kev Walker, as well as a Showcase frame.
