Red Receives New Mythic Dragon In Moonveil Regent In Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

Four-drop mythic Dragon incentivizes you to play as many colors as possible.

Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Brian Kibler, take a look at a new mythic rare Dragon from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt — Moonveil Regent!

The Dragonmaster showed off the new Dragon on his stream. As a four-mana 4/4 flyer, it’s hard to go wrong.

Whenever you cast a spell, you may discard your hand. If you do, draw a card for each of that spell’s colors.

When Moonveil Regent dies, it deals X damage to any target, where X is the number of colors among permanents you control.

Moonveil Regent incentivizes you to play as many colors as possible to get the biggest bang for your buck. Multicolor spells turn the first ability into a legitimate card-drawing engine. Plus, if you play your only card in hand, it’s all upside. On top of that, having multiple different colored permanents on the battlefield makes sure the Dragon gets value on the way out, even if you didn’t manage to draw any extra cards.

What do you think of Moonveil Regent? Is it an all-star, build-around card or another piece to an already five-color Commander deck?

Innistrad: Midnight Hunt is currently scheduled for release on September 24. View our official preview gallery.
