The 2020 Pro Tour Finals champion earned an invite to the Kaldheim Championship and $1,500 by winning the 309-person event. Prinz went 9-0 in the Swiss and capped off the tournament with an unblemished record, culminating with a finals win over Ioannis Tsetis on Dimir Rogues (Lurrus).
The path to the finals required wins against Toni Ramis Pascual and Lukas Dusek, both players with previous Kaldheim Championship Qualifier Top-12 finishes this season. Prinz defeated Pascual, also on Dimir Rogues (Lurrus), in the quarterfinals before dispatching Dusek on Esper Doom Foretold (Yorion) in the semis.
The Top 12 consisted of three copies of Gruul Adventures and Dimir Rogues (Lurrus), the last six spots were filled out by Mono-Green Food, Esper Doom Foretold (Yorion), Abzan Doom Foretold (Yorion), Dimir Control, Temur Adventures (Obosh), and Jund Midrange. The Jund Midrange deck is a variant of the Rakdos Midrange deck, splashing Korvold, Fae-Cursed King for some extra sacrifice synergy alongside The Akroan War and Village Rites.
