Mardu Gets New Elder Dragon In Piru, The Volatile From Modern Horizons 2

New Elder Dragon inspired from Legends originals.

Flying, Lifelink

Eight mana for a 7/7 flying, lifelink creature is a pretty good start.

At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice Piru, the Volatile unless you pay RWB.

As a callback to the original Elder Dragons from Legends, you must pay three mana of its wedge or sacrifice it. For the original Elder Dragons, that was strictly a drawback. With Piru, it can be a good thing as well.

When Piru dies, it deals 7 damage to each nonlegendary creature.

Whether by your choice or an opponents’, Piru dying should pretty much clear the battlefield of every nonlegendary creature. Not only will it kill of most creatures, but you get to gain seven life per creature killed thanks to Piru’s lifelink ability.

So what do you think of Piru, the Volatile? Can she find a home in Modern or live on to terrorize opposing creatures in Commander? Let us know in the comments!
