Red Gets Delver-Esque One-Drop In Dragon’s Rage Channeler From Modern Horizons 2

One-mana red creature brings back surveil and delirium.

Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and MTGCast, check out a new one-drop coming in Modern Horizons 2 — Dragon’s Rage Channeler!

While it starts out as a one-mana 1/1, Dragon’s Rage Channeler won’t stay that way for long.

Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, surveil 1.

Surveil makes its return after debuting in Guilds of Ravnica, allowing Dragon’s Rage Channeler to filter your draws and help its second ability.

Delirium — As long as there are four or more card types among cards in your graveyard, Dragon’s Rage Channeler gets +2+2, has flying, and attacks each combat if able.

Delirium is also back after being a huge mechanic from Shadows Over Innistrad block. A few spells should help you enable delirium rather quickly, especially when you factor in fetchlands, powering up your one-drop into a 3/3 flyer that continues to help improve your draw step. Dragon’s Rage Channeler looks to be a great fit for Jund Death’s Shadow as it is already a deck that cared about delirium with Tarmogoyf and Traverse the Ulvenwald.

So what do you think of Dragon’s Rage Channeler? What decks would you like to try it out in? Let us know in the comments!
