Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has provided a series of important details about updates for MTG Arena.
Jumpstart: Historic Horizons Goes Live Today
After a two week delay, Jumpstart: Historic Horizons officially launches today on MTG Arena. Players will pick two themed packs, digitally shuffle them up, and battle against other players doing the same. Players keep all the cards they open and can earn two rare or mythic rare individual card rewards for the first two wins with a deck. Players can play the deck as many times as they want, or retire the deck and queue again. Each entry is 2,000 gold or 400 gems. Check out the pack listings before jumping in the queues. No time has been announced for when the queue goes live.
Bugs Appearing After Backend Update
Many bugs are being detected after Tuesday’s lengthy downtime for the backend update to the client. The MTG Arena team is looking into and fixing the bugs as quickly as they can. A list of bugs so far includes:
- Player accounts appearing wiped
- Cards appearing banned or unbanned from various formats
- Players are receiving Bronze-tier ranked rewards even with no matches played
- Players who did not log in at all in the last season may encounter a blank ranked rewards screen
- Direct Challenge matches are sometimes not connecting properly
- All invalid decks are displaying the red warning triangle rather than showing the count of invalid cards or the need to craft cards
- Deck favorite settings have been lost
- Historic Brawl games have a starting life total of 20 instead of 25
- Quests and win bonuses are not resetting at the expected times
Midweek Magic Is Standard 2022
Midweek Magic from August 24-26 is Standard 2022. Only Zendikar Rising, Kaldheim, Strixhaven: School of Mages, and Adventures in the Forgotten Realms are legal in the experimental format. As usual, entry is free and the first two wins reward players with rare or mythic rare individual card rewards.
