Iyanaga, Izzet Epiphany, Wins Redbull Untapped 2021 International Stop 5

Junya Iyanaga won the Redbull Untapped 2021 International Stop 5 on Sunday with Izzet Epiphany.


Iyanaga made it through the Swiss only dropping a single match, reaching the platinum division (the Top 16 players after Day 1) before going 3-0 on Day 2 to enter the Top 8 as the #3 seed. After making the Top 8, Iyanaga rattled off three more wins over Roman Kopytin on Mono-White Aggro❄, Sandydogmtg on Mono-Green Aggro❄, and Dominick Paolercio on Dimir Control to take first place and win $4,000 with a record of 12-1.

The free-to-enter tournament had 595 players with the Top 64 players advancing to play in Day 2 among the four divisions. Manthos300 finished in second place overall and first in the gold division for $2,000 with a record of 12-1 with Mono-Green Aggro❄.


Davide Conterno won the the silver division with Jund Midrange for $1,000, and DG Hermit won the bronze division with Mono-White Aggro❄ for $500.



Mono-White Aggro❄ was the most played deck at 113 copies, followed by Izzet Epiphany with 102 copies. Mono-Green Aggro❄ wasn’t too far behind with 85 pilots, separating the top three decks from the rest of the field. Izzet Control only had 34 players while Dimir Control just 24.
