Halana And Alena, Partners Team Up On New Card From Innistrad: Crimson Vow

Former Commander Legends partners come together on single card.

Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC), take a look at two characters returning on a new card in Innistrad: Crimson Vow — Halana and Alena, Partners!

Halana and Alena originally appeared on separate cards in Commander Legends with the partner mechanic.

Now Halana and Alena join up on the same card and, for the first time, appear in a Standard-legal set. Together, they have first strike and reach and are a 2/3.

At the beginning of combat on your turn, put X +1+1 counters on another target creature you control, where X is Halana and Alena’s power. That creature gains haste until end of turn.

Halana and Alena not only work well together in Commander, but with their new card they work well with your other creatures as well. On top of buffing up a creature’s power and toughness, it also gains haste, allowing you to turn any creature you draw into an immediate threat.

What do you think of Halana and Alena, Partners? Do you see it making an impact in Standard or living mostly in Commander?
