Gyruda, Doom of Depths is no longer banned on Magic Online!

Last week, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) announced that Gyruda, Doom of Depths was temporarily banned in all formats on Magic Online (MTGO). As of late last night, the temporary ban on the powerful companion has been lifted.

ATTENTION GYRUDA FANS: Even now, your favorite companion has been returned to the formats from which it was banned. We invite you to doom as many depths as you wish.

The temporary banning took place because of an interaction between Gyruda and permanent graveyard-exiling effects such as Leyline of the Void and Rest in Peace.

For those asking, the issue with Gyrda is its interaction with Leyline of the Void effects. We're currently working on a fix that we hope to have out next week (with several other fixes).

The temporary ban had rippling effects across the Magic Online schedule, most notably leading to WotC postponing the Legacy Showcase Qualifier to Sunday, April 26.
